No one remembers exactly when Abuelo first arrived at La Esquinas.

Some say he wandered in from Old Town one quiet evening carrying nothing but a walking stick and a pocket full of stories. Others insist he has always been here, patiently watching the corner through every season, every celebration, and every passing generation.

Abuelo never argues.

He simply smiles.

He believes every person, every place, every old truck, every mural, every painting, and every stone has a story worth preserving.

While Huesito rushes off searching for the next adventure, Abuelo prefers to sit quietly, listen carefully, and remember what others have forgotten.

People often ask him where he learned so much.

He always gives the same answer:

"Stories have a way of finding those willing to care for them."

That is why Abuelo calls himself an Opiekuna—a guardian of memories, a keeper of history, and a protector of stories that might otherwise disappear.

Whether the story belongs to an artist who crossed an ocean, an old pickup named Roger, a forgotten building in Old Town, or a gemstone formed millions of years ago, Abuelo believes every story deserves another listener.
