The Artist Behind The Mural Collection

Memuco is the creator of the five murals that define the La Esquinas experience in Old Town San Diego. His work blends history, culture, imagination, and storytelling into vibrant public art that invites visitors to stop, look closer, and discover something new.

The Mural Collection includes:

  • Spirit of Old Town

  • El Muralista

  • The Watchful Four

  • Viva La Vida

  • Mar de Flores

Each mural tells a unique story while contributing to a larger visual narrative found at the corner of Twiggs Street and Congress Street.

Featured Storyteller: Romney

The Storyteller of Gemstones

One of the inspirations behind Mystical Gemstones was Romney, a longtime jeweler whose stories opened the door to the world of gemstones, mines, and mineral discoveries. Through conversations, maps, and adventures into the backcountry of San Diego County, he helped spark a journey that continues today.

Future Creators and Artists
